It appears that Robbie Williams, who just arrived at a press conference in Tel Aviv on Tuesday ahead of his performance in the Holy Land, has fallen in love with the Middle East and may soon become our (relatively) close neighbor.
On the eve of the beloved star's performance at Yarkon Park, as part of his European tour to promote the upgraded compilation album XXV, the singer reveals to the British newspaper The Sun that he is building a hotel in Dubai. "I'm building my own hotel, and if the project succeeds, I'll duplicate it," said Williams, who plans to perform at the new hotel regularly and actually be the rezdint – artist-in-residence – of the place.

"There are currently no residences in Dubai. I want to be the man who starts it," the 49-year-old singer explained, adding: "It's easier for artists to be in one place. They know, for example, that they can stay in Las Vegas for a long time and bring their families there. When you have kids, touring is another thing entirely.

"It would be great to invent something for people like me, where you go from Las Vegas to Dubai, Dubai to Las Vegas and back," said Williams, a father of two himself: 12-year-old Teddy and 9-year-old Charlie. The artist is also currently working on two additional musical projects, which are expected to be published in the coming year: Beyond a new and "regular" solo album that is in the final stages of polishing, Williams is also working on a surprising dance-electronic album under the band Lufthaus, in which he teamed up alongside musicians Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis.
